The BBC Young Musician category finalists have been announced. Among the five woodwind finalists are Polly Bartlett playing the recorder.

This is the third successive year of the competition that a recorder player has achieved this distinction, with the two previous years’ players going on to reach the final: Charlotte Barbour-Condini (2012) and Sophie Westbrooke (2014).

Polly will be competing for a place in the final with three flautists and one saxophonist at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama on 6-10 March.
